Broken Bones or Broken Hearts “…But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they break not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side and forthwith came there out blood and water”. [John 19:33,34]
Blood and water were signs that our Lord literally “died of a broken heart.” Roman executioners used to break the bones of their crucifixion victims in order to hasten their death. Christ's heart was already broken so his bones did not need to be! If your heart is already broken your bones don't need to be!
